The MiraTone Festival and Academy, founded by violinist Miranda Liu, is filling Budapest with music for the eighth time this year. Over the years, the event has become a defining gathering place in the European classical music scene, where internationally renowned artists from around the world inspire one another and the audience.

The concert is an ideal choice for those just discovering the world of chamber music: the program features deep emotion, virtuosity, folk-inspired music, and unbridled joy. An evening that is at once intimate, exciting, and full of discoveries.  The evening titled “Central European Serenade” guides the listener through the three very different worlds of three composers. The works of Mozart, Enescu, and Martinů simultaneously embody the diversity of Central European culture, the inspiring power of folk music traditions, and the most personal voice of chamber music.

The concert spans a range from darker emotions to unbridled joy. Alongside one of Mozart’s deepest and most moving chamber music works, the program also features Enescu’s unique, folk-inspired masterpiece, in which the violin sings, tells a story, and improvises. The evening concludes with Martinů’s cheerful, witty, and brilliant serenade, which evokes the lightness and joy of summer evenings.

What makes this program special is not only its exceptional repertoire but also the international collaboration among the performers.  The concert will feature artists from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Portugal, Japan, and Switzerland, who will bring their own musical traditions and individuality to this collaborative performance.
