As part of the MiraTone Festival and Academy, the V4 Music Foundation warmly welcomes everyone – especially Hungarian and Slovak citizens – to an exciting, interactive workshop.
Participation is free and open to all participants of the MiraTone Festival.
External guests are also welcome to join, but as the number of places is limited, registration is required: please indicate your intention to participate by 25 August 2025 at the following address: miratonefest@gmail.com
The roundtable discussion will be moderated by music historian Endre Tóth. His guests will include, among others, violinist Miranda Liu, violinist Daniel Rumler, musicologist Adrian Rajter, and several invited artists from the MiraTone Festival.
This workshop will examine the role of emerging musicians in the present and future of the EU’s musical life. The programme will feature a combination of moderated discussions and small-group activities, giving participants the opportunity to engage actively.

What qualities do we see in the current leaders of musical institutions and orchestras?

What should the leaders of the future be like in an ideal musical life?

Can young musicians imagine themselves in leadership roles – and if not, why?

How can leadership be a tool for community connection rather than separation?
The aim of the programme is not merely to critique existing systems, but to explore how young musicians can become not only excellent artists, but also inspiring community builders and future decision-makers.
Here, musical partnership is presented as a democratic practice: joint thinking, creation, and responsibility promote active EU citizenship and strengthen commitment to diverse, open cultural communities.

Master Classes
Now in its seventh edition, the MiraTone Festival and Academy has grown into a distinguished international celebration of chamber music, musical mentorship, and cultural exchange. Held annually in the historic heart of Budapest, MiraTone has welcomed over 120 talented participants from more than 25 countries in just six years.

Participants can choose between 3 and 5 master classes, with additional options such as chamber music coaching, audition preparation, and specialized workshops to customize their experience.

Who Can Apply?
We welcome violinists, violists, cellists, double bassists, flutists, clarinetists, pianists, and pre-formed chamber music ensembles of all nationalities, backgrounds, and identities. There is no age limit.
