Adolfo is an outstanding cellist and winner of the Ravel prize 2012. He made his debut with the London Symphony Orchestra performing Elgar’s Cello Concerto which was quickly followed by invitations from Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with Charles Dutoit and inmediately re invited, this time under Edward Gardner conducting, Orquesta Nacional de España (Ton Koopman) and an invitation by Riccardo Chailly for the Mendelssohn Festival at Leipzig’s Gewandhaus.
Other highlights include his debut with London Philharmonic Orchestra under Vladimir Jurowski as well as a return to Orquesta Nacional de España to work with Krzysztof Penderecki and colleagues Daniel Müller Shott and Gauthier Capuçon which leaded to Penderecki,s invitation to premiere his Cello Concerto N2 in La Coruña, Spain.
Earlier he made his US orchestral debut with Fort Worth Symphony under Miguel Harth-Bedoya and he returned to North America later for the Beethoven cello sonatas full cycle at Chicago Symphony Summer home in Ravinia Festival and Montreal Symphony’s Summer Festival under the invitation of Kent Nagano.
South American debut with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia, was an outstanding success and he has immediately been reinvited, appearing also in Mexico.
In his native Spain, Adolfo regularly performs with all the major orchestras including Bilbao, Oviedo, Málaga, Sevilla, Galicia, Comunidad de Madrid, Valencia, Granada, Barcelona etc etc
The Young Artist International Organization invited Adolfo to participate at the International Laureates Festival in Los Angeles, California. His recital tours in the United States led him to play in New York, Boston, Dallas, San Diego, Montreal and Los Angeles.
Adolfo has performed at major venues such as Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, Ford Theatre in Los Angeles, Cadogan Hall London, l’Auditori and Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Bulgaria Hall in Sofía, Colburn School Los Angeles, Salle Bourgie Montreal, Stadthalle Chemnitz, Gewandhaus Leipzig among many others.
He has collaborated with conductors such as Edward Gardner, José Ramón Encinar, Roberto Minczuk, Pablo González, Anu Tali, Antoni Ros-Marbà, Charles Dutoit, Edward Gardner, Pablo González, Guillermo García Calvo, Lucas Macias, Penderecki or Ton Koopman to name a few.
Adolfo has recorded works by Barber, Rachmaninov and Piazzolla, the complete cycle of the cello suites by J.S. Bach, the complete Beethoven Sonatas with pianist Christopher Park, Works for cello and orchestra by A.Dvorak with the Magdeburg Philharmonic and Kimbo Ishii and lately works by Schubert and Schumann with pianist Josu de Solaun who was finalist at the ICMA prize. Adolfo plays a cello by Francesco Ruggieri, handcrafted in Cremona in 1673 generously loaned by anonimous sponsors.
